Reminder: BIONUMERICS phasing out

BIONUMERICS support ends

Two years have passed since we announced the phasing out of BIONUMERICS and its end of support in December 2024. We would like to remind you that, as part of this phase out, the BIONUMERICS Cloud Calculation Engine (CE) will be taken off-line on December 31, 2024. This means that after this date, no Calculation Engine jobs can be submitted or run, and any results from earlier submitted jobs cannot be retrieved. Please note that we cannot reimburse purchased CE credits, so all credits should be used before the shutdown.

In case you need additional credits to run CE jobs in 2024, please order them before the end of this year. After December 31, 2023, we won’t be able to process any new credit orders.

The discontinuation of the BIONUMERICS Calculation Engine also means that wgMLST nomenclatures will not be available anymore. However, in the most recent BIONUMERICS versions, wgMLST analyses can still be run locally even after shutdown of the BIONUMERICS CE, allowing for assembly-based allele calling on your own computer only.

Around mid-2024, we will publish instructions on how to continue using the genotyping plugins and how to download e.g. PDF manuals and software tutorials in bulk.

While we must stop supporting BIONUMERICS as a product after 2024, your software license remains perpetual. Neither USB hardware dongles nor HASP virtual software protection keys will expire, which leaves you in principle with the option to continue using the software without support. The few customers that are using a permanent internet license will be contacted in the second half of 2024 and be offered to trade in their internet license for a USB hardware dongle.

If you have any further questions, please contact BIONUMERICS customer service.
